CLP Volunteer Signup 2021

Hello Everyone.  I want to first thank you for volunteering to help out with the Curly Leaf Pondweed project.  I’ve attached a google forms link below that I hope is easy for you to communicate your availability.  Please go to the link and sign up with specific dates and location preferences.  It is my hope that we can organize this with ease and safety.  During these Covid-19 times it is very important to practice social distancing, wear masks when within 6 feet of someone, and clean all equipment after use.  Once, I receive the responses to this survey, and when we learn more about where our efforts will be most beneficial, I will assign teams to a disignated area.  I also will provide a “CLP Kit” which should have all of the equipment needed to successfully hand pull clp.  White Water and Associates will be surveying the Turtle River and Pike Lake around May 24th and will report back to us on clp locations.  From there we will plan our hand pulling efforts.  Myself and a couple of our staff will be available on June 1st  and 2nd , but we will not be available on Saturday (Pike Lake).

Please make sure to carefully identify these plants.  Remember the native has a pointy tip, multiple midveins, and smooth edges and clasps on to the stem.  See links below. https://pikelakeneighbors.org/ais-control-project/ais-at-pike-lake/

Lastly,  I want to remind all of you to record your volunteer hours and equipment use on the websites volunteer sheet.  This includes the CLP training I conducted last Spring, Pike Lake Year in Review zoom meeting, and anything CLP related. Go to the Pike Lake Website for link to form.  https://pikelakeneighbors.org/ais-control-project/volunteer-labor-worksheet/
